On a cold winter's night, there is nothing like coming home to a hot bowl of tom kha kai.
You have to envision this bowl steaming hot, which it was, although that is hard to photograph. Chips along the side of the bowl are optional, although at my house they are mandatory.

We have a bit of a surfeit of Thai (four such restaurants, 4 square blocks) in the neighborhood, and it usually comes down to a choice between Opart and Rosded - I give Opart the slight edge, though on a good night the red chili catfish at Rosded is a bit better. But there's a huge luck of the draw at Rosded between the two chefs...
I will say, the decor isn't much to write home about at Opart, but overall it has become one of our favorites.
