A bit explosive in language, but the DoD is looking to make big noises in Southern Indiana, according to this CounterPunch piece.
Bad puns aside... yoiks.

My upstairs neighbor has at long last launched his food chronicling project, GreaseFreak. It's a catalog in the working of the classic Chicago foods - the Italian Beef, the Hot Dog, the Gyro and the Burger (some have already quibbled to me about the inclusion of the Turkey Club, but I view it as a sop to the white-meat nation). Each vendor is ranked on taste, presentation and ambience, with an accompanying photo (no photo exists of any damage to his gastric system in preparation of this project).
Worth a read, and contact the freak himself with your debates on rankings (I, for one, give Stella's much higher marks...)...

I don't believe I've ever seen a Mountain Goats video before, but this one for the new track "Woke Up New" is lovely. The song, as many of John's seem to, wraps around itself emotionally. The video, through effects, setup and other jimgrackery, does the same to very good effect.

So the Kooks are these guys who named their band after a song on Hunky Dory.
Vincent Moon is some guy with a camera in France.
Between them, they out together two concerts to go that are enchanting, a bit perplexing, and recommended.
But what's the original of "Ooh La!"? Hold on while I replace my hip.
